Dr Scott Heinemann - Veterinarian
Scott is one of the owners of Ascot Veterinary Surgery, and has operated the surgery for over 25 years. Graduating in 1984 from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science, Scott has always been involved in Small Animal medicine and surgery with a particular interest in Canine medicine and reproduction. He bred and exhibited Cavalier King Charles Spaniels for 20 years and was the inaugural president of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Qld and Veterinarian for the Canine Control Council of Qld. Apart from Cavaliers, he has bred Cocker Spaniels, owned a Labrador and currently has a poodle. Scott is an AQIS (Australian Quarantine) accredited Veterinarian and is involved in preparing dogs and cats for export overseas, allowing them to accompany their owners almost anywhere in the world. Scott regularly attends continuing education conferences and has recently returned from the World Small Animal Veterinary Conference in Geneve. Dr Ben Charlton - Veterinarian
In 2005, Ben completed his membership to the Australian College of Veterinary Surgeons focusing on internal medicine in dogs and cats. Following this he completed the Accreditation Program for Australian Veterinarians and then the Australian Quarantine small animal export and accreditation program. Ben is a former President of the Brisbane Veterinary Practitioners Group and Chartered Member of the Australian Veterinary Association. Dr Hollie Hodgkinson - Veterinarian
Hollie enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery and loves managing the health of her canine and feline patients. She has completed postgraduate studies in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine and regularly partakes in continuing education events. Hollie is pictured with Bambam, who never says “no” to a photo opportunity!

Nicole - Veterinary Nurse Nicole began working for the team at Ascot Veterinary Surgery in 2011, she has always had a passion for working with animals and a keen interest in training and behavior, along with surgical nursing.Nicole is currently completing her certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and brings a wealth of animal behaviour experience to the practice having been a puppy preschool instructor in the past.
Nicole lives with her two dogs; a talkative German shepherd named Indie and Milo a crazy bouncy Yorkshire terrier cross (pictured). Marie - Veterinary Nurse
Marie joined the team at Ascot Vet Surgery in early 2012. Marie came to Australia in 2007 from Sweden, where she was doing an apprenticeship in the horseracing industry. After moving to Australia Marie started working as a professional dog groomer which lead her into veterinary nursing and she is now studying her certificate IV. Marie loves all aspect of nursing and brings passion, care and understanding to your beloved pet. Marie is the proud owner of Abey the excitable Staffy, Bambam the goofy Labradoodle and Sven the pesky Devon Rex cat pictured here with Marie. |

Ben is one of the partners of Ascot Veterinary Surgery. Graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 1998, Ben initially began working in a mixed animal practice at Laidley, before moving to a large small animal hospital on the Southside of Brisbane for several years. Six months in the UK saw the cold get the better of him before he returned to Australia to take up a position at the Ascot Veterinary Surgery.
Hollie is the newest edition to the team at Ascot Veterinary Surgery. She graduated with a Batchelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland in 2009. Shortly after this she moved to country South Australia to work in a mixed animal practice, seeing a variety of animals including alpacas, rabbits and ferrets. She then worked in a busy small animal hospital in Adelaide before migrating back to Brisbane.
